Yes. They are charming, affectionate, intelligent, talkative, have unique personalities, are funny, cuddly, inquisitve, and rarely bite. They last from 5-7 years, so you'll have your little friend for a good while. -Where will my guinea pig live? I personally think that guinea pigs should live inside. They could live outside, but that would cost more because you need to have a heater and large hutch. They could also live in a shed or garage. -Will my guinea pig need a cage mate? Yes. Guinea pigs are herd animals. They need to have another animal with them for support, and then whenever you are gone they will keep eachother company. - Can a guinea pig live with a rabbit? No. There are many reasons why these animals cannot live with a rabbit. But the most worrying si that the rabbit could injur or even kill your guinea pig when they are in the same cage. -Can guinea pigs share the house with other pets? Of course. As long as your guinea pig is safe from them and they aren't living in the same room. Keep them in seperate areas. - Can I afford to have a guinea pig? Well... You must hav all the essintials, cage, bedding, food, acessories, bedding, water bottle, carrier, ect. The acessories will last quite a while, but you will need a constant supply of bedding, hay, food, vitamins, water, and vegtables. The most important and most expensive is vetrinary bills. It could get some what expensive. - Do I know how to take care of a guinea pig? I don't know! Only you can answer that question. Read the rest of this website or get a book about them. - Are guinea pigs good pets for children? Guinea pigs are wonderful pets for children! They rarely bite, don't take that much care, and don't take up that much space. They are fragile and slightly skiddish, however. If your child is very young always keep an adult with the child while they are taking care of their guinea pig. - Will I have enough time to take care of a guinea pig? It depends on if you work full time or if you have a lot going on regurally. You should be able to spend at least 4 hours a day with your guinea pig. It is even better if you get to spnd more. - What will happen if I go on vacation? If you are giong somewhere, even if it's just for a weekend, you must have someone who is responsible or who has ahd a guinea pig before be able to take care of them. |
